Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has declared a holiday on Monday for all schools, colleges and state public universities on October 20 on account of Diwali festival across the state, except Nuapada district.

The departments of School & Mass Education and Higher Education on Saturday issued circulars to the authorities concerned in this regard. ADVERTISEMENT

The School and Mass Education department stated that all schools functioning under its administrative jurisdiction will remain closed in lieu of a local holiday on October 20.

The department has instructed all District Education Officers (DEOs) to ensure the holiday is observed in all government and government-aided schools across the state, except in Nuapada district.
