Gov. Katie Hobbs on Friday joined Maricopa County and Tempe officials in declaring a state of emergency in the city following a storm on Oct. 13.
Hobbs’ declaration, in addition to the other two that came earlier in the week, are needed to be able to move forward to apply for potential federal funding to assisst homeowners and businesses, according to a city release.
Tempe is continuing to assess storm damage and urges residents to document any effects the storm has had on their property.
“We need everyone in Tempe that suffered any kind of damage, from broken windows to loss of business, to fill out the damage assessment form. These completed assessment forms will assist us with qualifying for much-needed funds that will greatly aid in our community's recovery effort,” the release stat
