Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday was in Perry County Oct. 6 to discuss Pennsylvania’s Law Enforcement Treatment Initiative (LETI), the state’s growing concern over child predator activity, and ongoing challenges in police recruitment and retention.

Sunday, who had served as district attorney in York County, emphasized that his philosophy of criminal justice is grounded in “accountability and redemption.” LETI, which has expanded to 33 counties including Perry, is a key part of that approach. The initiative allows law enforcement to help individuals struggling with substance abuse or mental health issues access treatment either before or after arrest.
