A pedestrian was killed Saturday after being struck by a vehicle at a freeway exchange near downtown Los Angeles

The collision was reported at 4:33 a.m. Saturday at the transition road from the eastbound San Bernardino (10) Freeway and the northbound Harbor (10) Freeway, where responding California Highway Patrol officers found the pedestrian near the freeway divider, CHP Officer Erik Larson told City News Service.

A white Lexus was stopped at the scene by CHP officers, but it was not known if it was involved in the collision.

The pedestrian — whose name, age and gender were not known — was pronounced dead at there scene, Larson said.

The cause of the collision is under investigation.
