A Newfoundland author is opening up about the challenges of living life on a cruise ship.

Jen Winsor recently released a book called Ship Moms, which chronicles the tales of women who became pregnant while working on cruise ships.

Winsor herself became pregnant while working on such a vessel. Due to her medical history, she decided to leave life at sea and return home to Newfoundland.

She says the work can be difficult, with crew members putting in long hours every day for months on end.

While Winsor says work on a cruise ship isn’t for everyone, the right type of person can really enjoy themselves.

She says the best part of it was the people that she met along the way, noting she now has people in all corners of the world who are her friends because of her time working on a ship.
