Teams continue to battle for position for the upcoming Alabama High School Athletic Association flag football playoffs, set to begin the first week of November, and top performers are making their marks across the state.

The Week 9 AL.com Flag Football Player of the Week nominees include several two-way athletes, including Class 6A/7A No. 1 Central-Phenix City’s Savannah Sevier, who helped her team take three shutout wins last week to run its winning record to 50 straight.

Hayden Fitts, quarterback at Montgomery Catholic, top-ranked in 1A/5A, also played a big role in her team’s three wins last week as she passed for 399 yards for the Knights.
