Alabama fans didn’t get their wish that legendary meteorologist James Spann would appear as guest picker on ESPN’s College GameDay two weeks ago, but they did get the next best thing on Saturday.

Spann, the long-time weather guru for Birmingham’s ABC 33/40, appeared on the SEC Nation set in Tuscaloosa prior to Alabama’s home game vs. Tennessee. He forecast the weather for Saturday’s big games and even picked a few winners.

“Roll Tide Alabama,” Spann said when asked for his “forecast” for Saturday night’s game in Tuscaloosa. “There’s magic in the air over here. A warm night — 83 (degrees) at kickoff, 78 on the way home. Just a small chance of a shower.”
