Baltimore has its newest running champions.
Steve Mance, 41, of Washington, and Rachel Cluett, 37, of Garrett Park, won the men’s and women’s marathon at the 25th annual Baltimore Running Festival on Saturday.
The pair finished the race in 2 hours, 27 minutes and 15 seconds and 2:53:08, respectively. Mance and Cluett both finished roughly a minute ahead of the next-closest runner in their respective fields. Daniel Rowe, 41, of Baltimore, (2:28:45) and Max Crockett, 22, of Ellicott City, (2:29:33) finished second and third, respectively, in the men’s marathon, while Liz Ozeki, 37, of Rockville, (2:54:15) and Jennifer Stephenson, 27, of Baltimore, (2:54:37) followed Cluett in the women’s race.
It’s the first marathon win for Mance, who said in a post-race television interview with WBAL
