The Alberta teacher strike is all but done.

It is not done today. It will not be done tomorrow.

But unless one side in this standoff blinks in the next 10 days, the strike will be over. The hammer will come down.

And Premier Danielle Smith and the Alberta government she leads are not blinking.

They are not bluffing because they hold the better cards.

They can order teachers back to work.

Loyal readers of this column already know, unless the teachers make a move, the Smith government on Oct. 27 will set the wheels in motion to send teachers back to the classroom.

The strike will then be over. Officially.

On Friday, Smith reminds us kids have been out of school for two weeks already.
