A 29-year-old man is facing sexual assault charges after interacting with a minor over social media.

In August, Edmonton police said a male youth was sexually assaulted after interacting with a man on Snapchat. Police said the man was communicating on the app under the username “Edm Gay Boy4ynger” and account name “Yegboi00.”

On Oct. 15, police arrested and charged Tristan Lahue, 29, with sexual assault, sexual contact with a child, and luring a child under 16 years.

Lahue was released under the conditions that he cannot have contact or communication with anyone under the age of 16. He cannot attend any public swimming area, school and school yard, daycare, playground, youth shelter or public library, nor possess or use any electronic devices capable of accessing the internet, including
