BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) - Mississippi’s college savings program now accepts Venmo and PayPal for gifting and cryptocurrency for payments.
This makes the state one of the first in the country to offer digital payment options for education savings.
“We have just now started to accept Venmo, PayPal, and cryptocurrency, namely Bitcoin, for our MACS plan,” said State Treasurer David McRae, who announced the new payment methods this week.

The state treasury operates two college savings plans: the Mississippi Prepaid Affordable College Tuition Plan (MPACT) and the Mississippi Affordable College
