At least 10 people are injured, one critically, after a balcony at off-campus University of Cincinnati housing collapsed on Friday night, officials said.
A call came in at around 10:09 p.m. regarding the collapse of a balcony that was on the third floor of a building, according to City of Cincinnati spokesperson Lindsay Lomax.
One person was injured critically in the incident while the others had non-life threatening injuries, Cincinnati Fire Department Chief Frank McKinley said. They were all taken to local hospitals, with seven of them receiving care at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, officials confirmed.
Most of the victims are believed to be University of Cincinnati students, McKinley said. The university was notified about the incident, he said.
