The Five-day Diwali festivities have begun in India, with Dhanteras celebrated on Saturday, October 18. The celebration will continue into the second day which will be observed as Chhoti Diwali. During the five days, several rituals are followed and along with Goddess Lakshmi, various other Gods and Goddesses are worshipped.

Chhoti Diwali

Chhoti Diwali, also known as Naraka Chaturdashi, is celebrated a day before the main Diwali festival. It marks the victory of Lord Krishna over the demon Narakasura, symbolising the triumph of good over evil. People light diyas, decorate their homes, and burst a few firecrackers as a prelude to the grand celebrations of Diwali.
