As the investigation into the deadly Clairton Coke Works explosion continues, U.S. Steel has already banned the use of a cleaning method it believes contributed to the blast that killed two employees and injured 10 others.

The company is no longer using high-pressure water to clear debris from valves. Instead, steam will be used, according to a company statement and a source close to the investigation.

The shift comes after contract inspectors with Engineering Design & Testing Corp. found that the water pumped into a valve was pressurized higher than the valve’s maximum rating, 50 pounds per square inch.
