A Hudson County resident won $1.6 million in the Jersey Cash 5 lottery on Friday.

The New Jersey Lottery announced that the ticket, sold at the National Food Store at 75 Bleeker Street in Jersey City, matched five numbers — 01, 16, 25, 43 and 45. The Bullseye was 16 and the XTRA was 04. The total prize money was $1,615,930.

The jackpot is the game's 53rd winner this year and the 11th to exceed $1 million.

The New Jersey Lottery said jackpots over $1 million "often occur," but prizes above $2 million are "rare." Earlier this month, two people — one in Camden County and one in Monmouth County — split a $3.8 million prize.
