Frank Lampard gave credit to Blackburn Rovers for showing his Coventry City players that they are not going to go out and win games comfortably or by a high scoreline every week.

The Sky Blues went into Saturday’s match off the back of three wins in the space of eight days prior to the international break, having won 3-0, 4-0 and 5-0 against Birmingham, Millwall and Sheffield Wednesday. But their latest opponents made life difficult for them until two quick-fire second half goals in the space of three minutes from Victor Torp and Brandon Thomas-Asante turned the game in Coventry’s favour, sending them back to top of the Championship with what turned out to be a comfortable 2-0 win and impressive fifth consecutive clean sheet.
