OCALA, Fla. (WCJB) - The Marion County Sheriff’s Office announced its detectives are assisting the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) with a death investigation after human remains were found at the 3200 block of Southwest 27th Circle, in Marion Oaks.

Deputies responded to the area around 2 p.m. on Friday after receiving information that human remains may be present on the property.

After a search, deputies say the remains were recovered and FDLE continues its investigation.

No evidence suggests that the remains are related to any active Marion County Sheriff’s Office case, according to deputies.

The investigation remains ongoing and new information will be released when available.
