GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - Billy Napier is still the coach of the Florida Gators, which improve to 3-4 on the season after beating Mississippi State (4-3) 23-21 in The Swamp.

Despite a chorus of ‘Fire Billy’ chants in the fourth quarter, University of Florida Athletic Director Scott Stricklin did not address the media after the game. For those looking for a firing, it did not happen Saturday.

Napier was asked about his future during the post-game news conference and his desire to finish the season with the team. “I’m going to go take a deep breath, get something good to eat, prop my feet up... hug on them kids. Then tomorrow, I’m going to wake up and we’ll think about the next one.”

The Gators have a bye week before heading to Jacksonville to play the Georgia Bulldogs on Nov. 1.
