Yankees legend Reggie Jackson took to social media to honor Shohei Ohtani after his historic performance.

“I say wow! and CONGRATULATIONS Shohei! for an incredible performance.! A tip of the cap and a bow to your performances tonight Reggie Jackson Mr October,” Jackson posted.

Jackson, of course, hit three home runs in Game 6 of the 1977 World Series - off of three different Dodgers pitchers - as the Yankees won the first of back-to-back World Series titles.

But “Mr. October” never pitched.

Ohtani does.

The Dodgers’ star hit three home runs at the plate and struck out 10 batters across six shutout innings from the mound in his team’s series-clinching 5-1 win over the Milwaukee Brewers in the National League Championship Series.
