DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) -- A fatal accident happened on Friday in Danville, and both state and local officials responded to the scene.

Danville Police confirmed with WCIA that this crash took place at the intersection of Gilbert and North Streets and that a fatality occurred. They also said that Illinois State Police is conducting the investigation into this incident.

State Police said that their Traffic Crash Reconstruction team was requested by the Danville Police Department to conduct this investigation. There is no further information at this time.
