URBANA, Ill. (WCIA) -- A protest rallying against President Donald Trump’s administration was hosted Saturday on the steps of the Champaign County Courthouse as part of the nationwide "No Kings Day of Action."

Tracey Dougan, co-lead of Champaign County Indivisible and one of the speakers at the event, estimated 5,000 people would be in attendance. Earlier this year, around 3,000 were at Urbana’s first No Kings demonstration, according to Dougan.

Dougan said the deployment of the National Guard and ICE across American cities are some of the reasons a second protest is taking place.

"Donald Trump is upping the stakes so we're upping the stakes," Dougan said. "If we all stand up and say we're not going to tolerate this -- we're not going to put up with this -- something has to change."
