KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee head baseball coach Tony Vitello might be unexpectedly sporting a different shade of orange in the future as he reportedly considers a deal to head to the MLB to work for the San Francisco Giants.

According to several sources, including the New York Times and A to Z Sports , the Giants are reportedly in talks with Vitello and are closing in on a deal to hire him as their next manager.

According to sources for NYT's sports wing, The Athletic, the Giants have not commented on the reports and Vitello said there was "nothing to confirm."

This would be Vitello's first opportunity to manage in the major leagues if he is hired.
