Wicked: For Good director Jon M. Chu teases that the sequel will feature a never-before-seen flashback of baby Glinda. This is a change from the Wicked stage musical , where there are no such flashbacks. The first movie and the Broadway musical do feature flashbacks to baby Elphaba, and the movie also shows a pivotal moment during Elphaba and Nessarose's childhood.

While speaking with Entertainment Weekly , Chu reveals that he insisted on filming the baby Glinda flashback scene that had been cut earlier in production. The flashback offers insight into Glinda's childhood, along with how it shaped her identity before coming to Shiz, and the choices she makes in Wicked: For Good . Check out Chu's comments below:
