A man who watched friends have their bladders removed due to taking too much ketamine still couldn't stop taking the drug himself.

Mikey Batten, a former ketamine user, started using the drug when he was 16, taking it at festivals and parties alongside other drugs recreationally before it spiralled into an addiction that took over his life.

Now 19 months clean, the charity worker has spoken out in an effort to raise awareness, but also to prove there is hope for those currently struggling with the drug.

From the age of 18, Mikey was taking ketamine every single day, though he did not feel it was taking over his life at the time.
