The Kerala High Court will watch the Malayalam film 'Haal' to determine whether the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) is justified in suggesting modifications for its release with an 'A' certification.
This follows the Catholic Congress's petition to join the case, arguing that the movie depicts an interfaith relationship supported by a bishop, which they claim hurts Christian sentiments and promotes "love jihad". The court has scheduled the matter for October 21 to finalise the viewing arrangements and to decide on whether the CBFC's suggestions should be carried out, according to Bar and Bench.
