Teenage star Uwezo Lubenda could rival Gout Gout for world glory in the 100m after his record-breaking race.
The 16-year-old and fellow Australian sprinter won the Queensland Representative School Sport state athletics title with a time of 10.35 seconds.
Lubenda has smashed the previous age-16 level record set by Hugh Donovan in 2010 when he ran 10.73.
He held a huge lead ahead of the chasing pack when crossing the line in a time similar to that of rising star Gout at the same age.
Gout ran 10.17 last year at the Australian All Schools Championship in Queensland, which set a new national U18 record and personal best.
Only a tailwind of +3.4 metres-per-second, which exceeds the +2.5 limit, stopped him from officially clocking 10.04. WATCH Gout Gout smash another record and cement n
