PORT ANGELES — A late-night fire destroyed multiple barns on Mount Pleasant Road Friday night, drawing a large response from several area fire departments.

Clallam County Fire District 2 was called just after 11 p.m. to the 3900 block of Mount Pleasant Road, where crews arrived to find a large hay barn fully engulfed in flames and spreading to nearby grass and outbuildings.

With several barns burning and a travel trailer, farm equipment, and a nearby home threatened, firefighters shifted to defensive operations to protect surrounding property. Mutual aid was requested from the Port Angeles Fire Department and Fire Districts 3 and 4, along with support from Clallam County PUD and the Sheriff’s Office.
