COLUMBUS, Neb. (KOLN) - The man accused of fatally shooting a woman inside a Columbus home in September pled not guilty to the charges filed against him on Thursday.

Court documents show Jack Regg, 26, pled not guilty to second-degree murder, terroristic threats and two counts of use of a firearm to commit a felony in Platte County District Court. His case was bound over to district court on on Sept. 25.

The judge scheduled a status hearing on Jan. 26, 2026, followed by a jury trial on Feb. 2, 2025.

Reeg was taken into custody on Sept. 16, shortly after Columbus Police arrived at a home near 22nd and 7th streets. Officers responded to the report of a woman with a gunshot wound.
