HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) -- Two people were left in critical condition Saturday following a wreck along Highway 501 and Ridge Road in Aynor, Horry County Fire Rescue said.

Crews arrived to the area shortly before 4 p.m. A recreational vehicle involved in the wreck had overturned and extrication operations were needed.

Two people were transported to an area hospital with critical injuries. South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating with assistance from the Aynor and Horry County police departments.

Officials said Conway-bound traffic lanes are closed.
