Samford head coach Chris Hatcher praised his team's perseverance and poise following a hard-fought road victory that marked the Bulldogs' first win of the season against Virginia Military Institute.

"It was kind of a back-and-forth game, but we found a way to win at the end," Hatcher said. "Really proud of our guys. We played really well the first half, lost some momentum, but we’ll take a victory any way we can get it."
