AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - After a Helms College student was found dead in the college’s parking lot on Monday night , the college has announced enhanced security plans.

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office says 30-year-old Martin Louis Gordon, of Grovetown, was found unresponsive in Helms College’s parking lot around 11:09 p.m.

James K. Stiff, Helms College President, said, “Martin was part of our community, a dedicated student working hard to develop his God-given gifts to provide a better life for his family through participating in our School of Trades to become an HVAC technician. Our thoughts and prayers are with Martin’s family.”

Now, a suspect is being sought in his death.
