CLEMSON — Clemson was without starting quarterback Cade Klubnik versus SMU on Oct. 18, and his backup couldn’t get the offense rolling fast enough in a 35-24 loss.

Christopher Vizzina picked up pass yards in spurts, finishing with 317 on the day. That included five throws to sophomore T.J. Moore for 124 yards and two scores. He found Tristan Smith on a 23-yard touchdown on a fourth-and-21 to cut it to 29-24.

But it wasn’t enough for the Tigers (3-4, 2-3 ACC) to overcome the Mustangs (5-2, 3-0) in a rematch of the 2024 ACC title game. The visitors, led by 290 pass yards from Kevin Jennings, sent Clemson to its fifth straight loss at home versus Power Four opponents .
