Heading into the overnight hours tonight, we will have to deal with the potential for strong to severe storms thanks to a cold front pushing through, but much seasonable weather is behind it.

Clouds are starting to build in across the Tennessee Valley, and that will continue over the next few hours ahead of the potential for some stronger storms tonight.

Rain and storms will come in during the overnight hours, with timing in the Shoals and NW Alabama around 12am-2am, the Huntsville/Athens/Decatur area around 2am-4am and into Sand Mountain around 4am-6am. While widespread severe weather isn't likely, a few storms may be capable of producing some winds greater than 40mph. The tornado risk isn't zero, but it's unlikely to be a big concern.
