Just 17 seconds after UConn’s Ryan Tattle tied the game, Ohio State’s Riley Thompson put his team back on top as the No. 16 Buckeyes held on for a 4-2 win on Saturday night at PeoplesBank Arena, splitting the two-game series between two teams in the top 20.

The No. 12 Huskies won Friday’s opener, played in Storrs, 3-2.

Joey Muldowney opened the scoring, giving UConn (2-2-0) a 1-0 lead with a power-play goal just 35 seconds into the second period. Ohio State answered with a Max Montes goal at 5:03 of the period and went ahead on a Jake Dunlap goal at 17:06. Both Montes and Thompson also had goals on Friday night.
