PORTLAND, Maine — Hundreds of people protested at a "No Kings" rally at Deering Oaks Park in Portland Saturday afternoon, joining over 2,000 demonstrations across the US .

There were multiple speakers, including Hannah Pingree, candidate for Maine governor, and Portland City Councilman Wesley Pelletier.

Those gathered at the event said they're angry with the Trump administration and asked for more opposition by Maine's representatives and politicians across the country.

NEWS CENTER Maine spoke with protesters, many of whom said their top concern is how the Trump administration is treating immigrants.

"I think it's absurd what's happening with ICE and the National Guard going after people," one protestor said.
