Ayodhya is once again poised to make history during this year’s Diwali celebrations, with representatives from the Guinness World Records team already on site. This time, the ancient city is aiming to set three new world records, including the lighting of over 2.6 million oil lamps and a grand collective aarti performed by 2,100 people.

An impressive 35,000 volunteers from Awadh University are preparing to light 2,611,101 diyas along the banks of Ram Ki Paidi, in what promises to be a breathtaking spectacle.

Last year, around 2.5 million lamps were lit, but this year’s target surpasses that, with a total of 2.9 million diyas planned for placement.
