The Michigan State Spartans were battling with No. 3 Indiana on the road Saturday afternoon. Two scoring drives to open the game had the Spartans going blow-for-blow with one of the hottest teams in the country.

But in a matter of minutes, the game completely shifted and MSU (3-4, 0-4 Big Ten) found itself in another blowout defeat .

The Spartans were forced into a punt in Indiana territory late in the second quarter, which set off the key six-minute window the Hoosiers used to pull away

Indiana (7-0, 4-0) scored in under two minutes just ahead of halftime, before getting the ball back in the second half.

Back from the break Indiana needed only four plays to find the end zone again, the point Hoosiers’ coach Curt Cignetti knew could be an early back-breaker for the Spartans.
