ANN ARBOR – Michigan’s tight ends were sparingly used in the pass game through the first half of the season, but offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey suggested earlier this week that could be changing.

The tight ends were heavily featured in Saturday’s 24-7 victory over Washington, despite the Wolverines missing their top two players at the position. Marlin Klein and Hogan Hansen didn’t play, but No. 3 tight end Zack Marshall stepped up with a team-high five catches for 72 yards and his first career touchdown.

Meanwhile, redshirt sophomore Deakon Tonielli played the first meaningful snaps of his career and registered his first three receptions for 38 yards.
