Two people were injured Saturday afternoon after a fire broke out at a home on Brookwood Court in Sugar Land.
Officials said loud noises heard by neighbors were caused by fireworks exploding inside the home as first responders arrived on the scene. Early reports of a possible plane crash were quickly ruled out.

The Sugar Land Fire Department, along with multiple mutual aid agencies, worked to control the flames at 1405 Brookwood Court. Two people were treated for injuries at the scene as firefighters continued operations.
Authorities have closed North Meyer Road in both directions near the ball fields while crews remain on site. Residents are being asked to avoid the area and allow emergency
