As Tennessee loomed at the Crimson Tide's 1-yard line, a touchdown for the opposition seemed inevitable. The Volunteers were in a run-heavy set but had no timeouts, leaving quarterback Joey Aguilar all but forced to throw.
The Crimson Tide saw the gears turning for a play-action pass from the Vols and made the most out of UT's misstep. Brown picked off Aguilar in the end zone and ran it back 99 yards for a touchdown to bring Alabama 's lead to 23-7.
