A homecoming letdown for a record crowd.

The Colorado State football team lost 31-19 on Oct. 18 to Hawaii in front of a program record crowd at Canvas Stadium of more than 40,000 .

Hawaii controlled much of the game, before CSU attempted a fourth-quarter comeback but it wasn’t enough.

Here are takeaways from the game.

Colorado State offense gets going too late

CSU (2-5, 1-2 Mountain West) had just over 100 yards of offense late in the third quarter.

The one score of the first half came on a Javion Kinnard 91-yard punt return touchdown (CSU had 106 yards of offense at halftime).

Hawaii (6-2, 3-1 MW) led 24-7 after three quarters before CSU’s offense finally got moving.
