Deputy CM promises local use of tax revenue , action on illegal buildings , and improved connectivity through metro, flyovers, and tunnel roads
Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has announced that he, along with the Ministers for IT, Industries, Science, and Technology, will soon hold separate meetings with IT and BT companies to hear their concerns. “The city currently generates around `6,000 crore in tax revenue, of which East Bengaluru contributes `1,600 crore. Earlier, taxes were distributed across all areas, but now each region’s tax revenue will be utilised locally,” he explained.
He added that the newly formed East Bengaluru Corporation, which covers KR Puram and Mahadevapura, is the richest in the state. “With several IT-BT companies based here, the creation of a separate c
