LOUISVILLE, Ky. — There was a scare for a couple of pilots at Bowman Field following two separate incidents on its runway less than an hour apart.

According to Bowman Field, around 12:30 p.m. Saturday, a plane carrying two people aborted takeoff on Runway 6/24 and later coming to rest in a grassy area next to the runway. That aircraft was towed to the ramp area.

Then just after 1 p.m., a different plane with one person on board had its front gear damaged after landing.

This caused a temporary closure of that runway for about three hours.

Bowman Field said all people involved were talking with airport staff following the incidents.

A cause in both incidents has not yet been determined.
