MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Chants of “No Kings!” echoed from McPike Park to the Wisconsin State Capitol on Saturday, as Madison joined nearly 3,000 cities nationwide in the second No Kings Day of Action— a coordinated day of protest calling for the defense of democracy.
The Madison event, part of a national movement backed by groups including Indivisible, the ACLU, and the American Federation of Teachers, drew more than 15,000 people. Organizers said all events across the country were rooted in peaceful protest and community safety.
“The emotions are that people are done,” said Wendi Dorn. “We’ve had enough. The election should have never happened in the first place. And it’s all his cabinet is completely unqualified.”
