PLAINVIEW, Texas (KCBD) - The Wayland Baptist Pioneers (4-2, 3-2) are already enjoying one of their best seasons in program history. Saturday, they upped their winning streak to four with a 42-28 win over the Langston Lions.
Both teams entered the fourth quarter tied 28-28. With 9:58 left to play, Pioneer quarterback Khalon Davis broke the tie with a 39-yard touchdown pass to Maddox Plazek, which put Wayland ahead 35-28. At 2:23, Damon Ford sealed the win with a 21-yard touchdown carry, which was part of his 104-yard performance. Pioneer running back Keamodre Horace recorded another career day with 15 carries for 182 yards and three touchdowns.
Wayland Baptist will look for its fifth win next Saturday at Arkansas Baptist. This will be the team’s first road game since beating Howard Payne
