Nandurbar, Oct 19: At least eight people were killed and 15 others injured after a speeding mini truck plunged into a deep gorge in Maharashtra’s Nandurbar district on Saturday morning, police said. The tragic mishap occurred when the vehicle lost control on a steep hilly stretch and veered off the road.

The accident took place around 10.30 am in the Chandsaili Ghat section under the jurisdiction of Taloda Police Station. Local authorities and rescue teams rushed to the spot soon after the incident was reported.

Police and local volunteers launched a swift rescue operation to bring out the victims from the gorge. The injured were immediately shifted to the Taloda Sub-District Hospital, while those in critical condition were referred to the Nandurbar
