SCHUYLKILL HAVEN, Pa. — A wild west tradition came to Schuylkill County on Saturday as the Schuylkill Stampede took place at the county fairgrounds.
Folks enjoyed the whole rodeo experience, complete with barrel racing and even bull riding. Organizers say the fairgrounds are the perfect place to bring the wild west to our area.
"We talked about it during the event, and we're like, we really should do a rodeo. It was at breakfast the next morning we came together as a committee. We're like, Yep, run with it, and the fairgrounds is the perfect place to do it," said Paul Kennedy, the Schuylkill County fair president.
Beyond the rodeo arena, folks got to enjoy a petting zoo, pony rides, and some live music.
