SCRANTON, Pa. — An on Saturday event in Lackawanna County helped raise money for an area woman in need of a kidney transplant.

Outside the Thirsty Elephant on Wyoming Avenue, community members gathered in support of Kimberly Rullo, who is currently on dialysis and is looking for a kidney donor.

"I've been on about 2 1/2 years and it's been very long. It's been trying at times, and I had a couple false alarms where they called me for a kidney, and it just didn't work out. The person would pass away or they couldn't couldn't reserve the kidney," said Rullo.

The fundraiser featured a DJ, a live band, and some friendly cornhole competition in Lackawanna County.
