LONG BEACH, Miss. (WLOX) - Residents at Equal Steps Veterans Home in Long Beach are looking for a new place to live after being abruptly told they had to be out of the building.

At least 17 veterans who live at the home got the news on Saturday that they had to be out of the facility by Monday.

Some family members of the veterans showed up Saturday afternoon, concerned about the care their loved ones were receiving and trying to figure out where they would go on such short notice.

Annette Jackson, a loved one of one of the home’s residents said she is very concerned for those that live there.

“They said these people have to be gone somewhere by Monday,” Jackson said. “Today is Saturday. We got so many females and males in here that need help.”
