Alabama football smoked some historic cigars Saturday night.

The Crimson Tide not only beat Tennessee, but Alabama also achieved some SEC history.

No. 6 Alabama defeated No. 11 Tennessee 37-20 at Bryant-Denny Stadium, which marked the fourth consecutive win over a ranked opponent for the Crimson Tide (6-1, 4-0 SEC).

No team in SEC history has ever done that with no open dates, according to SEC football communications director Chuck Dunlap .

Keep in mind, the Southeastern Conference has existed for almost a century. And yet no team has ever done that.

At the time of each game, Alabama beat No. 5 Georgia, No. 16 Vanderbilt, No. 14 Missouri and then No. 11 Tennessee.
